Day 5 – Collaborative Sites

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

visual learning as an awesome tool to keep up with tamariki and their forever changing worlds. to learn create and share.

 

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

Ive learnt about how to create a google site,embedding videos,  and how to edit and publish a google site. Intro into how to use the multi modal tools and how easy to link to the TMOA.

What did I learn that could be used with my learners?

how to create a basic google site which i will be able to develop further on. i am looking forward to seeing how the kids react and engage.

Not so much to teach them how to make a site but to enjoy the journey of eventually showing them how to navigate and to see their reactions of a new way to learn that they will love.

Day 3 DFI – Media

  • What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

I love how well thought out Manaia Kalani kaupapa has around its pedagogy not only digitally but also for our tamariki.  Ako – hanga – tohatoha. i love current Manaia Kalani is to provide other pathways for our tamariki to experience digital technology.

  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

Google slides was definitely a highlight and Marias session on preparing first on what your doing first plan and then summarise, we learnt  the capability to create slides confidently, loved learning the shortcut keys Shift + ___, Google drawings to create a poster which will engage our tamariki to create with shapes and can also animate them and the bonus is they learn other skills on their pukahiko other than gaming, multimedia pathways that can make the experience alot more engaging, SISOMO to create videos, always love learning about grouping tabs. I enjoyed learning about hāpara,

  • What did I learn that could be used with my learners?

Definitely Google drawings to create posters with the camera and creating backgrounds and being able to see how easy it could be. Loved the shapes and text session as well as the google slides session which i will rewind back to when needed.

  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?

im studying at the moment and the mahi where i can organise my folders definitely helps, i have to create alot of presentations so learning about google drawings and google keep is going to help me out immensely and just being made aware of what is available and doing a deep dive into the whole google suite is amazing.

 

Day 2 Workflow

  • What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy? 

Recognition, Amplify, Turbocharge our akongas learning through the many pathways of technology to enhance their learning as well as staying current. Examples used today i can see us using in the akomanga to engage our tamariki and know that there are many other ways to use technology other than gaming etc.

  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

Definitely starting with a reorganisation of my email, with all the tools weve learnt today and to definitely start google meets as my kaiako uses this in the akomanga to engage good habits.

  • What did I learn that could be used with my learners?

Definitely recording in google meets but hopefully our kura will allow access to this soon. google keep voice to text i would love to give a go with our ākonga.

  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?

Definitely the calendar tips and Gmail tips in reorganising everything to make workflow much easier. I cant wait.
